ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLER/WAVE SOLDER OPERATOR

Reporting to the Electronic Assembly Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible to deliver high quality products on time in order to meet demand.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Being able to follow the assembly instructions
  • Being able to assemble from a sample or from drawings / assembly instructions
  • Being able to correctly identify electrical components, component polarity and colour coding of resistors
  • Being able to place the parts into the correct positions on the circuit board
  • Be competent in the use of hand soldering equipment
  • Must be able to operate the wave soldering machine
  • Being able to trim and clean boards after soldering
  • Being competent in the use of relevant hand tools and assembly jigs
  • Being competent in the use of relevant test jigs
  • Being able to perform basic fault finding and inspection of boards
  • Being able to perform basic mechanical assemblies associated with electrical assemblies (i.e. heat sinks, battery chargers, enclosures, PSU)
  • Following standard assembly instructions (i.e. Right tool for the right job at the right workstation)
  • Adhering to general health and safety and housekeeping rules

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Matric
  • Previous experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
  • Wave Soldering experience

Hourly Rate:

R59.10 p/h
